Hoofmeisie

This South African family comedy focuses on three primary school students and their highly ambitious mothers. The families are driven by a shared goal for their daughters to be named Head Girl of the school. As the competition intensifies, one girl resorts to unkind behavior and manipulative tactics to secure the position. After losing sight of her own positive traits in the pursuit of victory, she eventually discovers the actual meaning of leadership.

The film was directed by Morné du Toit and written by Samuel Ferreira. It was produced by Danie Bester through The Film Factory. The cast features Mish'a el de Beer as Nadia van Heerden, along with Annemicke Kotze as Melissa Cronje, Melissa Massyn as Susan Vivier, and Christel van den Bergh as Martie Cronje. Ruan Wessels and Jamie Lawrence also appear in the production. With a runtime of 98 minutes, the movie was released on December 23, 2011.
