Chillar Party follows a group of children living carefree lives in the Chandan Nagar colony, whose close-knit world is disturbed when a new boy and his dog arrive in the neighbourhood. The friends take the newcomer into their circle, and when his safety is threatened, they find themselves up against the world of politics and the adults who control it.
The 2011 Hindi family comedy-drama was directed by Nitesh Tiwari and Vikas Bahl, who wrote the screenplay with Vijay Maurya. It was the first feature directed by both men, ahead of Tiwari's later films Dangal, Chhichhore, Bawaal and the two-part Ramayana, and Bahl's Queen, Ganapath and Shaitaan. Ronnie Screwvala and Salman Khan produced it through UTV Spotboy Motion Pictures and SKBH Productions. The cast is led by Irfan Khan as Fatka, alongside Sanath Menon, Rohan Grover, Naman Jain, Visshesh Tiwari and Chinmay Chandraunshuh as the children at the centre of the story.
On IMDb the film holds a rating of 7.5 from around 9,300 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 6.9 from a much smaller number of votes. The larger vote count on IMDb and the strong score there indicate a Hindi-language family film that found a durable audience, even though it did not register widely with the more international users who rate films on TMDB.
