Escape Plan
Short description
Ray Breslin makes his living by breaking out of prisons. As a specialist in structural security, he has himself locked up in high-security facilities so he can probe their weaknesses from the inside and then escape. His reputation brings him an assignment to test a secret detention centre built to be impossible to leave. The job turns out to be a trap: Ray is drugged, transported without knowing where, and held in the very kind of place he has spent his career designing. To get out he must rely on another inmate, Emil Rottmayer, and on skills that were meant to keep people like him locked up.
The film is directed by Mikael Håfström and written by Miles Chapman and Jason Keller. It came seventh in the director's filmography, after The Rite and before the later features that followed a break of several years. Sylvester Stallone plays Ray and Arnold Schwarzenegger plays Rottmayer, with Jim Caviezel as the warden, 50 Cent, Sam Neill and Vinnie Jones in supporting roles. Made for about 50 million dollars, it took roughly 137 million worldwide.
Viewers received it more warmly than critics. On IMDb it holds 6.7/10 from around 270,000 votes and on TMDB 6.7/10 from more than 5,700, while the critics' rating stands at 5.4/10 from 117 reviews.

- The idea of Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger starring together in a film had been discussed for many years, dating back to the mid-1980s. Various script versions were written, but according to Schwarzenegger, their filming schedules never aligned. After Schwarzenegger became governor and then played a cameo role in "The Expendables" (2010), they revisited the idea of working together.
- Antoine Fuqua was originally slated to direct the film, with Bruce Willis in the lead role.
- During the scene in solitary confinement, Schwarzenegger's character turns to the Lord and looks at Caviezel, who played the main role in the film «The Passion of the Christ» (2004).

- In one scene, Stallone's character determines the location of the prison by referring to the direction of water swirling down the drain. The reverse swirling of water down the drain is a pseudoscientific myth based on the misapplication of the Coriolis effect to the movement of water in a vortex created when it drains from a sink or bathtub. The essence of the myth is that water supposedly swirls in different directions in the Southern and Northern hemispheres of the Earth, supposedly explained by the Earth's rotation and the action of the Coriolis force.
