Baby is an Indian action thriller about a covert counter-terrorism unit operating under the radar of the country's intelligence services. The team, assembled and led by Feroze Khan, works to identify terrorist networks and stop their plans before attacks can be carried out, often beyond India's borders. Its most trusted operative is Ajay Singh Rajput, an officer who leaves his wife and children behind whenever a mission calls him to places such as Istanbul, Kathmandu or Saudi Arabia. The unit's members understand that if they are captured, the state will not acknowledge them, so the pressure of the job falls on them alone. Their efforts build toward a large operation against a plot that threatens the country.
Neeraj Pandey directed and wrote the film, which followed his 2008 debut A Wednesday! in his filmography. The cast includes Akshay Kumar as Ajay, with Anupam Kher, Kay Kay Menon, Rana Daggubati, Danny Denzongpa and Taapsee Pannu in supporting roles. It was produced by Shital Bhatia, Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar, with 67 credited cast members and 142 credited crew members. On IMDb the film holds a rating of 7.9 from around 63,000 votes, while on TMDB it has a 6.8 from about 200 votes, indicating a strong response from a large audience on the first platform and a more modest one on the second.
