Valentine

A group of young women who humiliated a classmate at a Valentine's Day school dance years earlier find themselves haunted by that night when someone begins sending them disturbing cards. As Valentine's Day approaches again, the women are targeted by a killer wearing a cherub mask, and one of them is found dead. The investigation turns toward the boy they once rejected and bullied, a man who may have changed his appearance in the years since and who is now believed to be seeking revenge.

The film is set in San Francisco and moves between the friends' teenage years and their adult lives. Jamie Blanks directed it, following his 1998 debut Urban Legend and preceding Storm Warning in 2007. Denise Richards, Marley Shelton, Jessica Capshaw, Jessica Cauffiel and Katherine Heigl play the women, with David Boreanaz as Adam Carr. Donna Powers, Aaron Harberts and Gretchen J. Berg wrote the screenplay, and Dylan Sellers produced.

Released in February 2001, the film had a budget of about 29 million dollars and took in roughly 37 million worldwide. It has an IMDb rating of 4.9 from around 32,000 votes and a TMDB rating of 5.6 from a much smaller number of votes. A critics' rating of 3.6 from 80 reviews places it below both audience scores.
