The Shepherd

Set on Christmas Eve in 1957, this drama follows a young RAF fighter pilot flying from Germany to England. While crossing the North Sea, the pilot experiences radio and power failures, leaving him lost with very little fuel remaining. To avoid crashing into the water, he must rely on a miracle, which arrives in the form of a mysterious guide who appears through the fog to lead him toward a safe landing.

The film was directed and written by Iain Softley, following his work on previous projects including Backbeat, Hackers, K-PAX, The Skeleton Key, Inkheart, and Curve. Produced by Alfonso Cuarón, Richard Johns, and Bill Kenwright, this UK and Mexico co-production stars Ben Radcliffe as the pilot and features John Travolta as Johnny Kavanagh. Other cast members include Steven Mackintosh, Scarlet Grace, Millie Kent, and Asan N'Jie.

Audiences have given the film generally positive scores, with a 6.9 rating on TMDB from 130 votes and a 6.2 rating on IMDb based on 5,000 votes.
