My Dead Friend Zoe

A veteran of the US Army who served in Afghanistan struggles with trauma and persists in a strange relationship with Zoe, her deceased best friend from the military. While Merit relies on the sarcastic presence of Zoe to avoid her own pain, she also attends therapy for veterans. Her life changes when she must provide care for her estranged grandfather, a Vietnam veteran diagnosed with Alzheimer's. By assisting him at the family lake house, Merit begins to learn about her family and finds the strength to face her internal struggles.
