WAR IS OVER! Inspired by the Music of John & Yoko

Set in an alternate version of World War I, this story follows two opposing soldiers who engage in a game of chess. Because they are on opposite sides of the conflict, they have never met and must rely on a carrier pigeon to transport their moves across the battlefield. As the fighting intensifies, both the match and the war approach a final climax.

The animated short was written and directed by Dave Mullins, following his 2017 film Lou. Produced in the United States by ElectroLeague, WETA, and Lenono Music, the project involved a credited crew of 69 people and was produced by Brad Booker. The film blends elements of music and war within its 11-minute runtime.

Since its release in December 2023, the film has received a moderate reception from viewers. On IMDb, it holds a rating of 6.4/10 based on 1,800 votes, while on TMDB it has a score of 6.2/10 from 44 votes.
