The Philadelphia Experiment

A secret government project sets out to recreate the World War II experiment that was meant to make warships invisible to the enemy. This time the test works, and the USS Eldridge, a destroyer that vanished during the original 1943 trial, reappears in the present day. Its return brings destruction rather than answers, and the only person who survived the first experiment, together with his granddaughter, has to find a way to stop it.

The Philadelphia Experiment is a 2012 Canadian-American science fiction thriller directed by Paul Ziller, written by Andy Briggs and produced by John Prince. It sits between Collision Earth and A Godwink Christmas: Meant For Love in Ziller's directing career. Ryan Robbins plays Richard Falkner, with Nicholas Lea, Emilie Ullerup, Malcolm McDowell and Michael Paré among the cast; Paré also appeared in an earlier film on the same subject. The film runs 85 minutes and blends adventure, mystery and suspense with its time-travel premise. Reception has been modest: on IMDb it holds a rating of 4.2 from around 3,600 votes, and on TMDB 4.8 from roughly 157 votes, indicating a small and largely unenthusiastic audience for this made-for-television production.
