A threatening phone call reaches Kogoro Mouri's detective agency, and a car explodes outside the building. The caller leaves behind a coded message and warns that a bomb will go off unless the riddle is solved. Conan Edogawa takes on the puzzle, and the trail leads him and the Detective Boys to a stadium hosting a football match between the Tokyo Spirits and Big Osaka. With a full crowd in the stands and time running out, Conan must work out where the bomb is hidden before many people are hurt.
The film is directed by Yasuichiro Yamamoto and Kobun Shizuno, whose credits on the series by this point were extensive. It is the ninth of fourteen films Yamamoto directed in chronological order, following Detective Conan: Quarter of Silence, and the third of fourteen for Shizuno, who also came to it from Quarter of Silence and went on to Detective Conan: Private Eye in the Distant Sea. Kazunari Kouchi wrote the screenplay. Minami Takayama voices Conan, with Kappei Yamaguchi as Shinichi Kudo, Wakana Yamazaki as Ran Mouri, Rikiya Koyama as Kogoro Mouri, Megumi Hayashibara as Ai Haibara and Yukiko Iwai as Ayumi Yoshida among the thirty-five credited cast members.
Released in Japan in April 2012 and running 110 minutes, the film took in roughly 44 million dollars worldwide. On TMDB it holds a rating of 6.8 out of 10 from 156 votes.
