Young Hearts is a drama and romance film about a fourteen-year-old boy named Elias living in a small village. When a peer named Alexander moves into the house across from him, Elias experiences his first romantic feelings. As he navigates this new attraction, he struggles with his identity and the fear of how others will react to his sexuality. After seeking guidance from his grandfather, he decides to confront his internal conflict and pursue a relationship with Alexander.
The film was written and directed by Anthony Schatteman, marking his third feature-length project following Les Inshortables, Vol. 1 and The Unknown Man. The cast is led by Lou Goossens and Marius De Saeger, supported by Geert Van Rampelberg, Emilie De Roo, Dirk van Dijck, and Jul Goossens. A total of 31 actors are credited in the production.
The movie received a positive response from viewers, maintaining a 7.9 rating on IMDb based on 8,500 votes. It is even more highly regarded on TMDB, where it holds a rating of 8.6 from 317 votes.
