Pixel Perfect

Pixel Perfect is a Disney Channel television film about a struggling amateur rock band, the Zettabytes, and their friend Roscoe, a technology-minded teenager. Hoping to give the group the stage presence it lacks, Roscoe draws on inventions developed by his scientist father to build a holographic singer named Loretta Modern. The band's fortunes change almost at once, but the new frontwoman pushes its original vocalist, Samantha, into the background, leaving her increasingly isolated. Roscoe, meanwhile, begins to recognise his own feelings for Samantha, while Loretta herself wrestles with questions of identity and what it means to be less than fully real. Roscoe also has to keep Loretta's origins from his father.

The film was directed by Mark A.Z. Dippé, whose earlier theatrical feature was Spawn, and it sits between that 1997 release and the three other features he made in 2004: Halloweentown High and Frankenfish followed later that same year, with further animated and family films arriving from 2007 onward. Alan Sacks and Neal Shusterman wrote the screenplay, and Don Schain produced. Raviv Ullman plays Roscoe, Leah Pipes plays Samantha, Spencer Redford voices and plays Loretta Modern, and Brett Cullen appears as Xander. It runs 90 minutes.

Receiving a 5.6 rating on IMDb from roughly 4,300 votes and a 5.3 on TMDB from about 90, Pixel Perfect drew a modest, mixed response from viewers.
