Home Alone 4

Kevin McCallister's parents have separated, and he now lives with his mother. He decides to spend Christmas with his father, Peter, who is staying at the home of his wealthy girlfriend, Natalie. Kevin soon discovers that the house is about to become the target of a burglary plot, and he finds himself facing the intruders largely on his own, using the house's modern technology and his own resourcefulness to defend it. The criminal Marv Merchants, who appeared in earlier films in the series, returns here working alongside a new partner, Vera.

Rod Daniel directed the film, which came late in a run of comedies he made over roughly two decades, beginning with Teen Wolf in 1985 and including K-9, Beethoven's 2nd and Alley Cats Strike. The screenplay is by Debra Frank and Steve L. Hayes, with Mitch Engel producing. Mike Weinberg plays Kevin, French Stewart plays Marv, and Missi Pyle plays Vera. Jason Beghe appears as Peter, while Erick Avari and Barbara Babcock are also in the cast.

The film was made for television rather than cinemas, running 84 minutes. Its reception has been poor: it holds a rating of 2.6 out of 10 on IMDb from around 44,000 votes, and 4.5 out of 10 on TMDB from over 1,400 votes.
