Final Cut: Ladies and Gentlemen

This Hungarian drama and romance follows a man and woman who experience a sudden attraction, though their relationship faces various complications and interference. The film serves as a study of the nature of love and gender. To tell this story, the narrative uses a collage technique where the protagonists constantly change their appearance, age, and identity. This effect is achieved by editing together several hundred clips from famous global cinema classics, accompanied by well-known film music.

Directed by György Pálfi, this was the second project in a series of films that includes Taxidermia and Hen. Pálfi also co-wrote the screenplay with Zsófia Ruttkay and served as a producer alongside Béla Tarr and Péter Miskolczi. The production features archive footage of many actors, including Brigitte Bardot, Alain Delon, Bruno Ganz, Greta Garbo, Rita Hayworth, and Woody Allen, with a total of 102 credited cast members.
