Battle in Seattle

Battle in Seattle dramatizes the protests that surrounded the 1999 World Trade Organization ministerial conference in Seattle. Thousands of demonstrators gather to oppose the talks, and what begins as a peaceful march grows into widespread confrontation as the city descends into disorder. The story follows several people caught up in the events, among them four protesters with their own reasons for being there, a police officer, and others whose lives intersect as the streets become a battleground between demonstrators, the Seattle Police Department and the National Guard. The film presents the days from multiple vantage points rather than a single perspective.

Stuart Townsend directed and wrote the screenplay, and also produced alongside Kirk Shaw and Maxime Rémillard. It was his first feature as director. The cast includes Martin Henderson, Michelle Rodriguez, Woody Harrelson, Charlize Theron, Jennifer Carpenter and André 3000, with 36 credited cast members and 54 credited crew.

Released in 2007, the film was made for about 8 million dollars and runs 99 minutes. On IMDb it holds a 6.6 rating from roughly 16,000 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 6.3 from around 270 votes, indicating a modest but consistent level of audience approval.
