Red

A solitary older man named Avery shares a deep bond with his dog, Red. After three teenagers kill the animal for no reason, Avery seeks legal justice and redemption. However, when the legal system fails him and the father of the boys offers his own version of morality, Avery decides to pursue revenge through any means necessary. This drama and thriller is based on a novel by Jack Ketchum.

The film was co-directed by Trygve Allister Diesen and Lucky McKee. For Diesen, this was the second film he directed after Hold My Heart. It was the fourth project for McKee, following May, The Woods, and Sick Girl. The cast features Brian Cox as Avery Ludlow, alongside Noel Fisher, Kyle Gallner, Shiloh Fernandez, Kim Dickens, and Marcia Bennett.

Produced by Billy Goat Pictures and Tenk in the United States, the movie had a budget of 3 million USD. It has been received moderately well by viewers and critics alike. On TMDB, the film holds a rating of 6.3/10 based on 292 votes, which is identical to the 6.3/10 rating provided by 28 film critics.
