Meet Bill

Bill is a bank manager whose life has stalled: he works for his wife's family, endures constant belittling, and discovers his wife Jess is having an affair with a television reporter named Chip. A sex tape of the two becomes a public sensation, pushing Bill past his limits. In the aftermath, he reluctantly becomes a mentor to a rebellious teenager, and an unexpected friendship with a lingerie saleswoman named Lucy helps him reconsider the direction of his life.

Meet Bill was released in 2007 and runs 93 minutes. It is a comedy-drama with romantic elements, made in the United States by GreeneStreet Films and Eclipse Catering on a budget of 5 million dollars. Bernie Goldmann and Melisa Wallack directed; Wallack wrote the screenplay, and Fisher Stevens, John Penotti and Matthew H. Rowland produced. Aaron Eckhart plays Bill, with Jessica Alba as Lucy, Elizabeth Banks as Jess, Logan Lerman as the teenager, Kristen Wiig as Jane Whittman and Timothy Olyphant as Chip Johnson.

On IMDb the film holds a rating of 6.1 out of 10 from 365 votes, while a critics' rating stands at 3.8 out of 10 from 20 reviews, a noticeably wider gap than the audience score suggests. The modest budget places it among smaller independent productions of its period, and the mixed critical response indicates a film received more warmly by viewers than by reviewers.
