Seraphim Falls

Set in the American West a few years after the Civil War, Seraphim Falls follows Confederate veteran Carver, who hires a group of armed men to hunt down Gideon, a former Union officer. What begins as a shooting in the snowy Ruby Mountains becomes a long chase across mountains and desert. Gideon, wounded early on, stays just ahead of his pursuers, while Carver's obsession drives him onward. A shared history from the war lies behind the pursuit.

David Von Ancken directed and wrote the film. Liam Neeson plays Carver and Pierce Brosnan plays Gideon, with Michael Wincott, Xander Berkeley, Ed Lauter and Kevin J. O'Connor among the supporting cast. The production had a budget of 18 million dollars and returned about 1 million dollars worldwide.

On IMDb the film holds 6.6 out of 10 from roughly 37,000 votes, and on TMDB it has 6.4 out of 10 from a much smaller number of votes. A film critics' rating of 6 out of 10 comes from 86 reviews, placing critical and audience responses in similar territory.
