A Company Man follows Ji Hyeong-do, who presents himself as an ordinary employee at a metal trading company. In reality the firm is a front for a group of contract killers, and Hyeong-do is one of its most reliable operatives, with a promising future inside the organization. When he is sent to deal with Ra Hun, a low-level worker marked for elimination, he instead chooses to carry out the man's final request and spare him. That single act of mercy turns him into a liability, and the company he served begins hunting him rather than let him walk away.
The 2012 Korean action crime drama was written and directed by Lim Sang-yoon, produced by Jeong Yong-uk for Showbox, and runs 96 minutes. So Ji-sub leads as Hyeong-do, with Lee Mi-yeon, Kwak Do-won, Kim Dong-jun, Jeon Kuk-hwan and Lee Kyung-young among the credited cast of eighty. It was made for about four million dollars and took roughly seven million worldwide, a modest return.
Audience responses are mixed to positive: on IMDb it holds 6.6 from around 7,000 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 7 from 223 votes, suggesting those who seek it out respond more warmly than the wider viewing public.
