Renoir

In the summer of 1915 on the French Riviera, the elderly painter Auguste Renoir lives with the aches of age and the loss of his wife, taking some comfort in the presence of Andrée, a young model whose vitality restores his urge to paint. News arrives that his son Jean has been wounded at the front, and Jean returns to the family home to recover. Fascinated by Andrée himself, he falls in love with her despite his father's grumbling disapproval. Their entanglement gives shape to a new ambition in the young officer, pointing him toward the cinema. The film is a drama with romantic elements set against a Mediterranean backdrop, featuring Michel Bouquet as Auguste, Christa Théret as Andrée, Vincent Rottiers as Jean and Thomas Doret as Coco.
