Brett Eisenberg, a young publishing assistant from New Jersey, is trying to make a career for herself in New York, though her confidence is shaken by a demanding new boss. She becomes involved with Archie, a much older and well-known figure in the literary world, whose heavy drinking, diabetes and strained relationship with his daughter complicate things. As she tries to help him with his difficulties, she also seeks guidance from her ailing father, while her boyfriend Jed is away in Europe. The story sets Brett's ambitions against an unfamiliar and glamorous social world.

Sarah Michelle Gellar plays Brett, and Alec Baldwin plays Archie; the cast also includes Maggie Grace, James Naughton, Vanessa Branch and Peter Scolari, drawn from a credited ensemble of thirty. Gigi Pritzker, Deborah Del Prete and Darryl Taja produced for OddLot Entertainment, and the film runs 97 minutes.
The film received limited attention. On IMDb it holds a rating of 5.4/10 from roughly 7,900 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 5.5/10 from about 166 votes. A critics' rating of 5.2/10 from eight reviews is close to those audience scores, suggesting a generally modest reception across viewers and critics alike.
