Disaster Movie

Disaster Movie follows a group of young friends whose evening takes a chaotic turn when a series of natural disasters and other catastrophic events strike their city. At the center is Will, a twenty-five-year-old who has just broken up with his girlfriend Amy and decides to throw the birthday party he never had. The party is interrupted by meteor showers, tornadoes and earthquakes, and amid the destruction the group sets out through the battered city to find Amy, encountering a string of eccentric characters along the way. The film is a parody of recent disaster films and other popular movies of the period.

Jason Friedberg and Aaron Seltzer directed and wrote the film, the third collaboration in a run of parody comedies that also includes Date Movie, Epic Movie and Meet the Spartans. The cast is led by Matt Lanter as Will, Vanessa Lachey as Amy, Gary Johnson as Calvin, Nicole Parker, Crista Flanagan and Kim Kardashian.

Made for a budget of 25 million dollars, it grossed about 35 million worldwide. On IMDb it holds a rating of 1.9 out of 10 from roughly 98,000 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 3.2 out of 10 from around 1,164 votes. A critics' rating of 2.2 out of 10 from 72 reviews places it below even the audience scores.
