Surfer, Dude

Steve Addington is a surfer who has built his life around riding waves and a laid-back, spiritual approach to existence. Returning to his hometown of Malibu after months spent surfing around the world, he finds the place transformed: sponsors, marketing and virtual entertainment have taken over, and the beach has fallen into an unusual flat spell with no waves at all. Broke, without an expense account and pressured by his manager, Steve is pushed toward promoting a virtual surfing game and a reality show, even as he questions whether fame and money can satisfy someone who only wants to surf.
