Spit

Johnny Spitieri is a former petty criminal who returns to Australia using a fake passport after spending twenty years abroad. Upon his arrival, he is detained in an immigration center where he becomes a target for old enemies seeking revenge. While attempting to evade these threats, the resourceful Spit experiences a series of comedic mishaps and forms bonds with other detainees, teaching them his perspective on mateship and Australian identity.

The film was directed by Jonathan Teplitzky, following his previous works The Railway Man and Churchill. Written by Chris Nyst and produced by David Wenham, Felicity McKay, and Trish Lake, the production features a cast of 46 credited actors.
