Out of Sight
Short description
Jack Foley is a bank robber who has spent years taking money without hurting anyone, and Karen Sisco is the federal marshal who crosses his path. When Foley escapes from prison with help from his partner Buddy Bragg, Sisco becomes caught up in the getaway, and the two find themselves drawn to each other even though she is meant to bring him in. Foley has one more score in mind, tied to a stash of uncut diamonds, while Sisco has to decide how far her professional duty stretches.
Steven Soderbergh directed the film, the fourth of the thirty-five features he has made, arriving between The Underneath and The Limey, from a screenplay by Scott Frank based on Elmore Leonard's novel. George Clooney plays Foley and Jennifer Lopez plays Sisco. Ving Rhames, Don Cheadle, Steve Zahn and Dennis Farina are among the large credited cast, and Danny DeVito, Michael Shamberg and Stacey Sher produced for Universal Pictures and Jersey Films.
Made for about 48 million dollars, it took in roughly 78 million worldwide, a modest return. Audiences rate it 7 out of 10 on IMDb from around 105,000 votes and 6.7 out of 10 on TMDB from far fewer, while its critics' score of 8.1 from 106 reviews is noticeably higher than either.
What's left behind the scenes
