Fire with Fire

Fire with Fire is a 2012 action crime thriller about Jeremy Coleman, a firefighter who intervenes in a fatal shooting at a convenience store. He survives and agrees to testify against Neil Hagan, the leader of a gang with white supremacist ties, and is placed in a witness protection programme overseen by federal marshals. Relocated from Long Beach to New Orleans, he begins a relationship with Talia Durham, one of the marshals assigned to keep him safe. When Hagan's people track him down, Jeremy gives up on hiding and sets out to deal with Hagan himself, both to protect Talia and to end the threat for good.

The film was directed by David Barrett, the first of the two features he has directed, and written by Lowell Cauffiel and Tom O'Connor. It stars Josh Duhamel as Jeremy, Bruce Willis as Mike Cella, Rosario Dawson as Talia, Vincent D'Onofrio as Hagan, with 50 Cent and Richard Schiff also appearing.

Released in August 2012, it was made for about 10 million dollars and returned roughly 3 million at the worldwide box office. On IMDb it holds a rating of 5.6 from around 29,000 votes, and on TMDB a rating of 5.7 from a much smaller number of votes. The film critics' rating stands at 3.2 from 15 reviews, placing it well below the audience scores.
