Reincarnation

A young actress named Nagisa Sugiura is cast in a horror film based on a massacre that occurred 35 years prior at a hotel. A professor killed eleven people, including his own family, and recorded the events on video before taking his own life. As preparations for the movie begin, Nagisa is plagued by disturbing visions and hallucinations. While she starts to believe she is a reincarnation of the professor's daughter, another woman begins investigating her own recurring dreams to see if they are linked to a previous life.

Directed by Takashi Shimizu, this mystery horror film is the seventh of 20 works by the director, following The Grudge (2004) and preceding The Grudge 2 (2006). The screenplay was written by Masaki Adachi and Shimizu. The film stars Yûka as Nagisa Sugiura, alongside Kippei Shiina, Tetta Sugimoto, Shun Oguri, Marika Matsumoto, and Karina. Produced by companies including TOHO and Nikkatsu Corporation, the movie earned 4 million USD at the worldwide box office.
