Sleepwalking

Sleepwalking is a drama about an eleven-year-old girl, Tara, whose life is upended when her mother's boyfriend is arrested. With nowhere to stay, Tara and her mother, Joleen, move in with Joleen's younger brother, James, in his small apartment. Joleen soon leaves with another man, and James, who is not equipped to raise a child, is left to look after his niece on his own. When he loses his job and cannot provide for her, Tara is placed in foster care. The film follows the two of them as James takes Tara out of that situation and they make their way toward Utah, where James grew up and where his father still lives.

The film was directed by William Maher from a screenplay by Zac Stanford, and the cast includes Nick Stahl as James, AnnaSophia Robb as Tara, Charlize Theron as Joleen, Woody Harrelson as Randall, Dennis Hopper as Mr. Reedy and Deborra-Lee Furness as Danni. Theron also produced the film, which was released in March 2008 and runs 101 minutes. On TMDB it holds a rating of 6.1 out of 10 from 107 votes.
