Short description

The Last Jiangshi focuses on Old Li, who is presented as the sole remaining jiangshi, or hopping vampire, living in the modern era. Based on Chinese folklore regarding corpse-herding rituals, the story follows a film student who uses his camera to document the life of this 237-year-old creature.

The film was directed by Yu Chih-chieh, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Tang Tu and Lin Shizhao. It is the first of four films directed by Yu Chih-chieh, followed by Isolation, Nowherebound, and Indigenous Project. Produced by Robin Yung and Zhu Wenhui through Fun Age Pictures and Massifilms, the production involved collaborations between Hong Kong, China, and Taiwan. This drama, fantasy, and mystery short has a runtime of 20 minutes and was released on September 20, 2025.
