Lost in Thailand

Lost in Thailand follows Xu Lang, a scientist whose company is competing over a valuable new fuel technology. He travels to Thailand to secure approval from his boss, hoping the trip will settle the rivalry with a colleague and secure his professional future. Along the way he meets Wang Bao, a cheerful but accident-prone companion whose attempts to help repeatedly make matters worse, turning the business trip into a series of mishaps.

The film is Xu Zheng's directorial debut, and he also stars as Xu Lang. The cast includes Baoqiang Wang as Wang Bao, Huang Bo as Gao Bo, Hong Tao, Xie Nan, and Fan Bingbing appearing as herself. It was written by Shu Huan and Ding Ding and produced by Wang Changtian, Xing Aina and Chen Zhixi.

Released in December 2012, the film was made for about 2 million dollars and became a major commercial success, earning roughly 208 million dollars worldwide. On IMDb it holds a 6.2 rating from around 4,100 votes, while on TMDB it sits at 6.4 from 142 votes. Xu Zheng later directed My People, My Country in 2019 and Upstream in 2024.
