Henry Altmann is a short-tempered lawyer in New York whose patience has worn thin. After a car accident sends him to a hospital, he is examined by Dr. Sharon Gill, a young physician covering for his usual doctor. Angered by the wait and demanding to know how long he has left, Henry is told he has a brain aneurysm and, when he keeps pressing, that it will kill him in about ninety minutes. Convinced his life is nearly over, he rushes out to reconcile with the people he has hurt, including his wife Bette, his son Tommy and his brother Aaron. Sharon, realizing her answer was an invention rather than a diagnosis, sets out across the city to find him before the time she named runs out.
Phil Alden Robinson directed the film, which followed The Sum of All Fears in his filmography and was written by Assi Dayan and Daniel Taplitz. Robin Williams leads as Henry, with Mila Kunis as Dr. Gill, Peter Dinklage as Aaron, Melissa Leo as Bette, Hamish Linklater as Tommy and Sutton Foster as Adela; thirty performers are credited.
Released in May 2014, the film runs eighty-four minutes. Reception was modest: it holds a 5.7 rating on IMDb from more than twenty-three thousand votes and a 5.6 on TMDB from several hundred, while its critics' rating stands at 3.4 out of ten from thirty-two reviews. Audience scores therefore sit noticeably higher than the critical one.
