Justin the Just

Set during World War I in France, this historical comedy follows Justin, an illiterate farmer who is drafted into the French army. Lacking knowledge of the world or the nature of combat, Justin struggles to understand the necessity of killing strangers. As he experiences the front lines, he forms bonds with a Senegalese soldier and a German pilot. His journey involves escaping a prisoner camp and leading a mutiny to protect his comrades from further danger, leading him to realize the absurdity of the conflict.

The film was written and directed by Eric Barbier, following his previous works The Snake, The Last Diamond, Promise at Dawn, and Zodi and Téhu: Princes of the Desert. The cast features Alban Ivanov in the title role, alongside Alexandra Lamy, Birane Ba, Thierry Hancisse, and Stéphane De Groodt. A joint production between Belgium and France, the movie was produced by Vertigo Productions and SCOPE Pictures.
