Sisyphus Dreaming

A man named Hang experiences sleep paralysis in his dreams, which precedes a series of unsettling events in his waking life. He encounters a strange new colleague and an eccentric man in a restroom, while a photocopy machine begins producing envelopes unexpectedly. The surreal nature of his reality peaks when he spots a bald man from his dreams. These bizarre occurrences culminate in a ride on a speeding minibus, where Hang discovers the explanation for the incidents.

This 2018 drama was produced in Hong Kong by the Hong Kong Arts Centre. It was directed by Jas Pun Man-yat, who also wrote the screenplay alongside Casper Leung and Mak Tin-Shu. The film is the first in a listed chronological sequence of the director's work, followed by Ember in the Land of Nothingness in 2022. The short film has a runtime of seven minutes and stars Casper Leung as Hang, Peter Au Wai-Kuen as his father, and Lo Yan Chi as a male passenger. Lo Yan Chi also served as the producer for the project.
