Della Myers is a suburban wife and mother living with her twin children and a husband who treats her badly. On Christmas Eve she drives to a shopping mall for last-minute gifts, and when she finds a car occupying two parking spaces, she leaves an angry note on its windshield. That note turns out to belong to a small-time criminal and his friends, who confront her in the lot as it empties out. A confrontation follows, and Della becomes the only witness to something the group cannot afford to leave behind. She flees in her car, but they give chase, and the pursuit ends when she crashes near a forest at the edge of a construction site. What follows is her struggle to stay alive through the night, hunted by four young men, with only the tools she can grab from her own vehicle.
Susan Montford directed the film and wrote the screenplay, and Mary Aloe, Don Murphy and Kirk Shaw produced it. Kim Basinger plays Della, with Lukas Haas as Chuckie, Craig Sheffer as Kenneth and Luke Gair, Leonard Wu and Luis Chávez among the supporting cast. It was a co-production between the United Kingdom, Canada and the United States, made for about six million dollars.
The film runs eighty-two minutes and sits in the drama and thriller genres. On TMDB it holds a rating of 5.5 out of 10 from just over two hundred votes, a modest response from a small audience.
