Full-Court Miracle

Full-Court Miracle follows Alex Schlotsky, a student at a Jewish school in Philadelphia whose basketball team, the Lions, is struggling badly. When Lamont Carr, a former college basketball standout whose playing career ended after a knee injury, arrives in the area, Alex persuades him to take over as coach. Lamont sets about turning the team around and guiding them toward a tournament, where a stronger opponent awaits. The story draws on the real experiences of University of Virginia player Lamont Carr and of Alex Barbag and Chad Korpeck, who inspired the central character.

Stuart Gillard directed the film, the fourth of the thirteen features he has directed in chronological order, arriving between RocketMan and Going to the Mat. Joel Silverman, Joel Kauffmann and Donald C. Yost wrote the screenplay, and Jacqueline George produced. Alex D. Linz plays Alex, with Richard T. Jones as Lamont Carr, R. H. Thomson as Rabbi Lewis, and Sean Marquette, Jase Blankfort and Erik Knudsen among the supporting players. Twenty cast members and forty-eight crew members are credited.

Released in November 2003 by Disney Branded Television and Daniel L. Paulson Productions, the film runs ninety minutes and was made for television in Canada and the United States. Audience response has been modest: on IMDb it holds a rating of 5.7 from around 1,200 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 5.8 from a much smaller pool of 64 votes.
