A Report for Minerva 2

A Report for Minerva 2 is an upcoming comedy set in a decaying hotel where the lives of various employees and guests intersect. The story follows fourteen overlapping narratives featuring a diverse cast, including an unhappy married couple, a lonely clarinetist, and a young man seeking romance. Among the residents is an alien from the planet Minerva 2 who is monitoring the state of Earth. Through internal monologues and brief, awkward encounters, the film explores themes of isolation and the desire for personal change.

Directed by Miroslav Krobot and Lubomír Smékal, who also co-wrote the screenplay, the project is an experimental work. It is loosely based on a stage production by the S 23 Theatre Company, utilizing non-professional actors who employ a dialogical acting method. Produced by Film Kolektiv and Spolek 23, the film is a Czech production with a runtime of 69 minutes. Silvie Michajlova and Ondřej Zima served as producers for the film.
