A fast-food chain called the American Chicken Bunker opens a new branch on TMDB of an old Native American burial ground, and the restaurant's military theme does not sit well with the spirits buried there. A curse falls on the place, turning customers who eat the food into chicken-like zombies. At the centre of it is Arbie, a young man who takes a job at the restaurant, while his ex-girlfriend Wendy joins the protesters outside. Together with a fry cook and others, he tries to stop the feathered threat.
Lloyd Kaufman directed the film and wrote the screenplay with Gabriel Friedman and Daniel Bova. It is the sixth film he directed in the chronological list beginning with The Toxic Avenger in 1984 and continuing through Class of Nuke 'Em High, two entries in the Toxic Avenger series, Tromeo & Juliet and Citizen Toxie: The Toxic Avenger IV. Kaufman also produced with Michael Herz and Friedman. Jason Yachanin plays Arbie, Kate Graham plays Wendy, Allyson Sereboff appears as Micki, and Robin L. Watkins plays General Lee Roy. Twenty-two cast members are credited in total.
Made by Troma Entertainment and Poultry Productions LLC, the film runs 103 minutes and mixes comedy, horror and science fiction. On IMDb it holds a 6.2 rating from 25 reviews, while on TMDB its audience score is 5.8 from 183 votes, so critics rated it somewhat higher than viewers did.
