The Pretty One

The Pretty One is a comedy and drama about Laurel, a shy woman who loses her twin sister Audrey in a car accident. After the crash, Laurel is mistaken for her more outgoing sibling. Seeing an opportunity to escape her own unremarkable existence, she decides to assume Audrey's identity and move into her apartment. As she adopts this new life, she struggles with the choice between maintaining the deception and revealing the truth about who she is.

Directed and written by Jenée LaMarque, this was the first of two films she directed before The Feels. The production was a United States project involving Schorr Pictures, Provenance Pictures, and RCR Pictures. Zoe Kazan stars in the dual roles of the twin sisters, appearing alongside Jake Johnson, Ron Livingston, Danny Pudi, Sterling Beaumon, and John Carroll Lynch.
