The Other Man

Peter and Lisa have been married for a long time and seem settled in their success, she as a shoe designer and he as the head of his own company. When Lisa goes to Italy and then disappears, Peter discovers that she had been involved with another man, a figure he never knew existed. Ignoring his daughter Abigail's advice, he travels to Milan to track the man down.

The film is directed by Richard Eyre, who wrote the screenplay with Charles Wood. It is his fifth feature, arriving between Notes on a Scandal in 2006 and The Dresser in 2015. Liam Neeson plays Peter, Laura Linney plays Lisa, and Antonio Banderas plays Ralph, with Romola Garai, Pam Ferris and Abigail Canton in supporting roles. Frank Doelger, Michael Dreyer and Tracey Scoffield produced.

Released in December 2008, the British production had a budget of 15 million dollars and took about one million dollars worldwide. On IMDb it holds 5.4 out of 10 from roughly 13,000 votes, and on TMDB it also sits at 5.4 out of 10, from around 247 votes. A critics' rating of 4.2 out of 10 from 37 reviews places it below both audience scores.
