Corky Romano is the youngest son of a mob boss known as Pops, and he has spent most of his life away from the family business as a mild-mannered veterinarian's assistant. When federal agents build a racketeering case against his father, the family turns to the one relative with no criminal record. Corky is sent into the FBI undercover to find and destroy the evidence against Pops, with help from a hacker who prepares his false credentials. His cover story proves far too flattering, and he gains a reputation as a skilled agent while trying to keep his real mission hidden.
Rob Pritts directed the 2001 comedy from a screenplay by Jason Ward and David Garrett, with Robert Simonds producing. It was Pritts's first film as director. Chris Kattan plays Corky, and Vinessa Shaw appears as Agent Kate Russo. Peter Falk plays Pops, with Peter Berg and Chris Penn as Corky's brothers and Fred Ward as Leo Corrigan.
The film runs 86 minutes and was made for about 11 million dollars, earning roughly 24 million worldwide. On IMDb it holds a 4.8 rating from around 14,000 votes, and on TMDB a 4.5 from about 189 votes. A critics' rating of 3.3 from 82 reviews places it below even those audience scores.
