Freaked

Ricky Coogan is a vain television star who agrees to promote a chemical fertilizer for a large corporation, traveling to South America with his friend Ernie to visit the company's operations. There they encounter a strange roadside attraction run by a scientist named Elijah C. Skuggs, whose exhibits turn out to be mutated people. Ricky, Ernie and a young environmental activist named Julie become caught up in Skuggs's activities.

Alex Winter directed and co-wrote the film with Tim Burns and Tom Stern; it was his first feature as director, made before Ben 10: Race Against Time, Deep Web, Showbiz Kids and Zappa. Winter also plays Ricky, with Michael Stoyanov as Ernie, Megan Ward as Julie, William Sadler as Skuggs and Randy Quaid among the cast. The production involved 51 credited cast members and 68 credited crew, and cost about 11 million dollars.

On IMDb the film holds a 6.4 rating from around 9,200 votes, while on TMDB it has a 6.2 from a much smaller number of votes, suggesting a modest but settled following rather than broad popularity.
