Camino

Camino is a Spanish drama about an eleven-year-old girl, Camino, who is seriously ill and facing two new experiences at once: falling in love and dying. Her mother, a devout Catholic and a forceful presence in the family, makes decisions on behalf of those around her, and a religious organization plays a part in the girl's life as her illness progresses. The film is inspired by the true story of a girl from a family connected to Opus Dei who died in the 1980s.

Javier Fesser directed and wrote the film, which is his first in the chronological list of his features, followed by Mortadelo & Filemon: Mission Implausible, Champions and Championext. Nerea Camacho plays Camino, with Mariano Venancio as José, Carme Elias as Gloria, Manuela Vellés as Nuria, Lola Casamayor as Tía Marita and Ana Gracia as Inés. It runs 143 minutes and was produced by Mediapro.

On IMDb, the film holds a rating of 7.4 from around 5,600 votes, while on TMDB it stands at 7.6 from roughly 227 votes, which suggests a small but strongly positive viewership for a Spanish drama of its period.
