Danielle "Daisy" Brooks arrives at the New England college Beckshire as a first-year student, having grown up on a ranch after losing her parents. Life there seems to be going well: the dean's handsome son takes an interest in her, she receives a scholarship, and she is invited to join an exclusive campus society known as the Ivies. The group, however, is more than a secret sisterhood. Its members are ambitious and willing to use seduction, blackmail or worse against anyone who gets in their way, including one of their own. A student's mysterious death hangs over the campus.
The film is directed by Jason Hreno, who made Wicked Minds in 2003 and, years after this title, Motherland in 2021. The screenplay is credited to Michael Worth, Liz Maverick and Peter Sullivan, with Lindsay MacAdam producing. Miriam McDonald plays Daisy, Shawna Waldron plays Azalea, Ryan Kennedy plays Blake, and Greg Evigan, Yan-Kay Crystal Lowe and Andrea Whitburn also appear. It is a Canadian-American production from CineTel Films, Insight Film Studios and New Line Home Entertainment, made for about 2 million dollars.
Part of the Poison Ivy series, the film was released in 2008 and runs 95 minutes. Audience scores are low: on IMDb it holds 4.2 out of 10 from roughly 2,800 votes, and on TMDB 4.6 out of 10 from a much smaller group of voters.
