Lesbian Vampire Killers

Jimmy and Fletch are not having a good time of it. One has just been dumped, again, and the other has lost his job, so they head off to the Welsh countryside for a weekend away from their troubles. What they find instead is a village under an old curse: every young woman there turns into a vampire on her eighteenth birthday. The local vicar comes to believe that Jimmy is the descendant of the man who once defeated the vampires' queen, and that his arrival may be the signal for her return. When a busload of foreign students shows up, the night turns into a fight for survival involving crosses, frying pans and an ancient sword.

Phil Claydon directed from a screenplay by Paul Hupfield and Stewart Williams. It was the first of the two features he has directed, followed by Within in 2016. James Corden plays Fletch and Mathew Horne plays Jimmy, with MyAnna Buring as Lotte, Paul McGann as the Vicar, Silvia Colloca as Carmilla and Emer Kenny as Rebecca. The British production ran 86 minutes.

The film was released in March 2009. On IMDb it holds 5.1 out of 10 from around 22,000 votes, and on TMDB 5.2 out of 10 from roughly 436 votes. A critics' rating of 3.5 out of 10 from 25 reviews sits below both audience scores, so the response was consistently muted.
