Kamen Rider ZO

A laboratory assistant named Masaru Aso becomes part of a genetics experiment and gains the ability to transform into a grasshopper-like figure known as Kamen Rider ZO. He flees into the mountains and falls into a coma, awakening two years later to a telepathic summons and an instinct to protect Hiroshi Mochizuki, the son of the scientist behind the experiment. A monster connected to the same research pursues the boy, setting up the central conflict.

Released in Japan in 1993, the film runs 50 minutes and belongs to the action, adventure and science fiction genres. Keita Amemiya directed it from a screenplay by Noboru Sugimura, with Toei Company, Bandai and Ishimori Productions among the production companies. Hiroshi Tsuchikado plays Masaru Asou, Isao Sasaki appears as Doctor Mochizuki, and Shohei Shibata plays Hiroshi Mochizuki, alongside Hiroshi Inuzuka, Naomi Morinaga and Kenji Ohba. Chronologically, it is the first of six films Amemiya directed that are listed here, ahead of Kamen Rider J in 1994 and four later titles.
