Dr. Dolittle 3 follows Maya Dolittle, the daughter of the veterinarian who can speak to animals. Maya has inherited her father's gift, and it makes ordinary teenage life difficult, since she hears what the animals around her have to say and they will not leave her alone. Her mother sends her to a ranch, where Maya hopes to keep her ability hidden and fit in with the other young people there. When the ranch's future is threatened by the owners of neighbouring land, Maya turns to the animals for help.
The film is a family comedy directed by Rich Thorne from a screenplay by Nina Colman, and it is the third entry in the series. Kyla Pratt plays Maya, with Kristen Wilson as Lisa Dolittle, alongside Walker Howard, John Amos, Luciana Carro and Tommy Snider in supporting roles. It runs 93 minutes and was made in Canada and the United States.
The film has an IMDb rating of 4 out of 10 from around 8,100 votes, while on TMDB it holds 5.1 out of 10 from roughly 500 votes. Both figures point to a modest reception among viewers, with the larger IMDb sample indicating a broadly negative consensus and the smaller TMDB group somewhat more favourable.
