A series of fatal malfunctions plague the elevators of the Millennium Tower, a massive skyscraper in New York City. As passengers face gruesome deaths, mechanic Mark Newman and reporter Jennifer Evans launch separate investigations into the cause of the accidents. While the police consider the possibility of terrorism, Newman encounters resistance from his employers and discovers a strange technological explanation behind the killing machines.

Written and directed by Dick Maas, this film followed his previous works including The Lift, Flodder, and Amsterdamned. It features a cast led by James Marshall, Naomi Watts, Eric Thal, Michael Ironside, Edward Herrmann, and Dan Hedaya. Produced by First Floor Features, the movie was a joint production between the United States, the Netherlands, and the Netherlands Antilles.
