Short description

Trip, a young roadie for Metallica, is sent on an urgent mission during the band's show. But what seems like a simple assignment turns into a surreal adventure.

What's left behind the scenes

  • The film's screenplay is 15 pages long and contains very little dialogue.
  • The film's title is the name of the seventh track from Metallica's album – Metallica (Black Album) from 1991. Nevertheless, it is not performed in the film.
  • Dutch director Anton Corbijn was offered to head the project, but he had to decline due to scheduling conflicts with his film "A Most Wanted Man" (2014).
  • At the very beginning of the film, a guy falls off a skateboard. Interestingly, James Hetfield himself has broken his arm several times due to this mode of transportation, so his concert contract now includes a clause "NO SKATEBOARDING".
  • Some of the compositions performed at the concert were not included in the film. The compositions not included are: “Sad But True,” “Welcome Home (Sanitarium),” “Fade to Black,” and “Seek and Destroy.”
  • The concert footage featured in the film was shot on August 24, 2012, at “Rogers Arena” in Vancouver (Canada).
