Puppylove

Diane is fourteen, solitary and enigmatic, living with her father Christian and helping her younger brother Marc with his schoolwork. When Julia, a free-spirited young British woman, moves into the neighbourhood, Diane's routine is upended. Determined to leave childhood behind, Diane drifts through a semester of experiences that draw her further from her old life; the closer she becomes to Julia, the more irresponsible her behaviour grows, and the consequences of her desires are ignored.

Puppylove is a Belgian, Luxembourgish, French and Swiss drama directed by Delphine Lehericey, who wrote the screenplay with Martin Coiffier. It was her first feature, followed a decade later by Last Dance. Solène Rigot plays Diane, with Audrey Bastien as Julia, Vincent Perez as Christian, Vadim Goldberg as Marc, Thomas Coumans and Joel Basman in supporting roles. The film runs ninety minutes.
