Manual of Love 2

Manual of Love 2 is an Italian comedy-drama told in four separate chapters, each following a different set of characters through a romantic crisis. A young man left paralysed by a car crash becomes fixated on his physiotherapist, who is about to marry someone else. A married waiter at an upscale restaurant begins an affair with a younger Spanish colleague. Two middle-aged men in a relationship decide to marry abroad after one of their fathers refuses to accept it. And a couple unable to conceive travel to Barcelona for fertility treatment.

The film is directed by Giovanni Veronesi, who wrote the screenplay with Ugo Chiti and Andrea Agnello. It is a sequel, and in Veronesi's filmography it precedes The Ages of Love, Romeo Is Juliet and God Laughs. The large ensemble cast includes Carlo Verdone, Monica Bellucci, Riccardo Scamarcio, Fabio Volo, Sergio Rubini and Antonio Albanese, among 57 credited performers. Aurelio and Luigi De Laurentiis produced it for Filmauro.

Released in January 2007, the film runs 125 minutes. Its worldwide box office reached about 28 million dollars, a strong return for an Italian production of its kind. Audience response has been moderate: on IMDb it holds 5.5 out of 10 from roughly 2,400 votes, and on TMDB 5.4 out of 10 from about 292 votes. The two sets of viewer ratings therefore sit close together, indicating a similar reception across both platforms.
